Manual tools for operators can often be heavy and awkward to use because of weight distribution. 3D printing operator tools allows for a opportunities in weight savings. 

 

The example shown had a weight savings of 70% while maintaining strength through the use of carbon fiber material.

CUSTOM SEALS

In the past, seals were limited in design opportunities due to the limitations of injection molding.

With 3D printing, we are able to customize seals to include complex geometries. Injection molding can struggle with certain part geometries, but in the case of the example seal, 3D printing can completely eliminate performance concerns.

The top, red component can be taken out and replaced with an insert to make part changeovers easier than ever. Color coding the insert helps with identifying variants of components.

 

Any wear to the pallet component is done on the red component, so there is no need to unbolt and replace the entire assembly. Operators change the wearable portion on demand.
